Acute phase mediator oncostatin M regulates affinity of α<inf>1</inf>-protease inhibitor for concanavalin A in hepatoma-derived but not lung-derived epithelial cells
2005, CytokineCitation Excerpt :Purified human plasma α1-PI was used as a standard. The glycosylation pattern of α1-PI was analyzed by crossed affinoimmunoelectrophoresis (CAIE) with concanavalin A (ConA) according to the Bog-Hansen method [19], using 24.3 mM diethylphenobarbituric acid/Tris pH 8.6, containing 0.4 mM calcium lactate. At first, proteins were resolved by electrophoresis in agarose gel (3 h at 10 V/cm) incorporated with ConA (1.5 mg/ml).
