Covariates included in multivariate analysis include race/ethnicity (Caucasian vs non-Caucasian), education, disease duration, follow-up time, smoking status, comorbidity count, pharmacological interventions and disease status (DAS28 ≤2.6 vs DAS28 >2.6) at enrolment.
