Traditional CV risk factors include diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, tobacco use, known CV disease, a family history of premature CV disease, age ≥75 years and male gender. Markers of RA severity include disease duration >5 years, the presence of radiographic joint erosions, the presence of subcutaneous nodules, a prior total joint replacement, modified HAQ score ≥2, a Clinical Disease Activity Index score >22 and seropositivity.
