Prothrombin time: <3 seconds = 0; 3–6 seconds = 1; >6 seconds = 2.
Fibrinogen concentration: >1.0 g/l = 0; <1.0 g/l = 1.
Total score: ⩾5, compatible with DIC; <5, suggestive of DIC.
