  • Synovial hypertrophy grades were significantly higher in joints with clinical signs of synovitis (p<0.001). 51% of the joints without clinical findings of synovitis had demonstrable synovial hypertrophy—that is, the extremity MRI is more sensitive than clinical investigation.
