Osteoclast-containing 19 day old and osteoclast-free 17 day old fetal mouse metatarsals were cultured for seven and 11 days, respectively, in the absence or presence of IL17, TNFα, or a combination of the two cytokines. Bone area and length are expressed as arbitrary units as measured by computerised analysis.
*Significantly different versus control. Cultures of 19 and 17 day old fetal mouse metatarsals were performed in quintuplicate and quadruplicate, respectively.
