    We read with interest the article by Schönau et al,1 a rare prospective study performed in the setting of fever/inflammation of unknown origin (FUO/IUO). They concluded that positron emitted tomography (PET)/CT is helpful in the diagnosis of the underlying cause of fever/inflammation not elucidated with a preliminary diagnostic work-up. Notwithstanding the merits of the study, there are aspects that may deserve additional comments.
