Abstract

This lecture will describe and discuss the first experiences with user involvement in Danish Rheumatology research and will take its departure at King Christian 10th Hospital for Rheumatic diseases in Denmark. The examples and experiences shared will concern the first experiences from involving users in the AMBRA-study where patient initiated follow-up for outpatients with Rheumatoid Arthritis was explored; the results from a study on what type of information the patients want when participating in research; the experiences from involving users in the development of a new education programme for persons with rheumatoid arthritis; an interview study on patients and researchers thoughts about user involvement in rheumatology research and finally our first experiences with a user-board in our research department.
