    The European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) Sjögren's task force proposed the EULAR Sjögren's syndrome disease activity index (ESSDAI) in 2010.1 This index scores the activity of primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) within 12 organ domains, intended for both clinical trials and daily practice. For the construction of the index, patients and vignettes with (highly) active systemic disease were used. No reports applying ESSDAI on a clinical cohort have been published yet. Our aim is to determine the applicability of ESSDAI as an activity index in clinical practice and we propose a cumulative ESSDAI score for describing disease severity.
