The issue that mutations in genes responsible for autoinflammatory syndromes could explain also some inflammatory or rheumatological disorders has been raised in recent researches. In particular, Mevalonate Kinase Deficiency (MKD) can occasionally overlap clinically and genetically with Behcet's disease.
