Magnetic resonance imaging of orbital granulomas (patient No 1) before (A, B) and after treatment (C, D) with RTX. In T2 weighted imaging (A, C), typical hypointense masses in both retrobulbar spaces (white arrows) are found, which are enlarged at follow up after 3 months. Contrast enhanced, fat suppressed, T1 weighted MRI sequences (B, D) show persistence of diffuse bright signals in the orbitae owing to granulomatous inflammation. In addition, extensive granulomatous processes in the ethmoidal cells are not improved after treatment.
