Lupus anticoagulant and HELLP syndrome complicated by placental abruption, hepatic, dermal and adrenal infarction

Abstract

Pregnancy complicated by the HELLP syndrome and antiphospholipid antibodies has not previously been documented. The patient suffered a significant placental abruption, hepatic, adrenal and cutaneous infarctions, and ongoing adrenal insufficiency. Attention is drawn to the serious clinical potential of this association.
