Retinopathy of dermatomyositis

J Clin Neuroophthalmol. 1985 Sep;5(3):177-9.

Abstract

A recent case of childhood dermatomyositis with striking retinopathy is reported. The patient's vision was initially at the 20/80 to 20/100 level with associated macular edema and extensive cotton-wool infarction of the retina. Visual recovery to the level of 20/20 in both eyes was achieved following treatment with high-dose corticosteroids.
