Risk of bacterial arthritis by susceptibility index (SI) after infections and invasive medical procedures for a 60 year old male patient with joint disease

  • 4-150 The SI is a sum score, based on the presence of a knee/hip prosthesis (2 points), diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (1 point), comorbidity (1 point), age of 80 and over (1 point) (see table 3). For a 60 year old patient, the SI ranges from 0 to 4 because age does not pose an additional risk.

  • 4-151 Dental, skin, ear, nose, throat, gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, urinary tract, female genital tract. The 95% CI could not be calculated because the risk estimates were not based on empirical data.
